Dr. Renganathan, T.K. is a retired Professor of Zoology. He has Undergraduate and Post Graduate teaching experience of 36 years in the same institution – V.O. Chidambaram College, Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, India. He developed keen interest in ascidian taxonomy and obtained his Ph. D degree from Madurai Kamaraj University under the able guidance of Dr. S. Krishnaswamy, Vice-Chancellor of Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, India. He has supervised 3 Ph. D and 15 M. Phil students. He has published 30 research papers in national and international journals relating to ascidians. He has attended several seminars, symposia, workshops and Summer Institutes. He has received University Grant Commission research grants twice and one from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. He served as member of Board of Studies in Zoology in Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. He has published several books (Evolution, Chordate Zoology, Animal Phylogeny, Immunology, Biochemistry, Genetic Engineering, Molecular Biology and Microbiology) for undergraduate and post-graduate students.
