Dr. Annapurna Chandrbhotla is a PhD in Zoology, and is a Full Time Professor at the Zoology Department Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, India. She has published 56 papers dealing with taxonomy of marine benthic ostracoda, free living marine nematodes, echinodermata, and ecology of meio and macrobenthos. Dr. Annapurna also has mentored several post doctoral , doctoral and master’s degree students. Dr. Annapurna’s lab investigates macro and meiobenthic communities off Goa Coast , with special emphasis on OMZ and meiobenthic communities of Kandla ,Mangalore Kochi, Tuticorn ,Chennai,Paradeep,Haldia and Kolkata ports which has been funded by the Ministry of earth sciences and Ministry of shipping in collaboration with National Institutes of Oceanography , Goa . Very recently she is involved with the project Monitoring of algal bloom (harmful) along East coast of India and development of Predictive model and identification of algal cyst through field experiments in collaboration with NRSC, Hyderabad, India.
